Most modern browsers support SVG, however Internet Explorer through version 8 does not. Read more about browser compliance. Below, I list the browsers that I’ve tested.

For browsers that work fine, I list the oldest version tested. For those that don’t, I list the latest version tested.
These Work Fine
  • Mac/Camino 1.0.2 †
  • Mac/Firefox 1.5.0.8, 2.0.0.7, 3.0
  • Mac/Opera 9.25 *
  • Mac/Safari 2.0.4, 3.2.1, 4.0.2 *†
  • Mac/Google Chrome 15.0.874.121
  • Win/Firefox 3.0
These Don’t Work So Well
  • Mac/IE 5.2.3: doesn’t recognize the MIME type (image/svg+xml)
  • Mac/Netscape 7.2: doesn’t recognize the MIME type (image/svg+xml)
  • Win/Netscape 9.0.0.6: unusable
  • Win/Firefox 2.0.0.15: the across-sum numbers don’t show up or show up in the wrong position
  • Win/IE 8: doesn’t recognize the file type
* A work-around had to be encoded to allow the number clues to render correctly. This work-around changed the dimensions of each cell from 1×1 to 100×100 so that the font-size could be specified in units not less than 1.
† These browsers have various problems printing these puzzles.
